Salmon runs on the Columbia and Snake rivers have faced major habitat loss, channelized streams and infrastructure invasion to their native spawning grounds over the past decades. While preservation efforts persist across Washington, Idaho and Oregon to save salmon runs, the work has successfully staved off extinction but not had salmon populations recover. To understand more, KBOO's Annette Newell speaks with Brian Brooks of the Idaho Wildlife Federation about how federal level intervention could save salmon runs.
