Still having technical difficulties. So for today we will re-air a program from last August when we featured the radio adaptation of the great screw ball comedy by Preston Sturges, The Lady Eve. Barbara Stanwyck stars as Jean Carrington, a con artist who takes revenge on socialite Charles Pike, played in this adaptation by Ray Milland, an heir to a brewery fortune. Who jilting her while they both were returning from South America on an ocean liner. She assumes the identity of an English woman, Lady Eve and proceeds to get him to fall in love with her as this different woman. One of the great screw ball comedies of the classic Hollywood era has been brought to the radio, as was the practice in those days, on the long running Lux Radio Theater which we will present along with some crazy fun music.
