The recent heat wave in the Northwest was a call to action on climate change. Are you listening? On today’s show, we’ll talk about the climate crisis and some ideas about what you can do, with a focus on local fisheries, urban trees & gardens, and small farms.

  • Tyson Rasor of Ecotrust talks about the impact of the climate crisis on our oceans and fisheries and how community building and kelp can help.

  • Marisha Auerbach of Permaculture Rising tells us about the value of our urban tree canopy, how climate change affects the plants and animals around us, and how we can make positive change through our gardens.

  • Amy Wong of Friends of Family Farmers shares some legislative successes including ending a tax credit that benefitted mega dairies and a grant program to support small farm meat processing in Oregon.
