The image on this page was taken by Self Help Radio's host Gary.  It's a view from his room to the front yard of his home in Fort Worth, Texas.  Obviously he doesn't live there now.  But when he lived there, he could look out to a giant oak in his front yard.  Occasionally - maybe only once or twice - workers who might be doing a job on the street would come & take lunch under that tree.  This seemed entirely appropriate.  Why Gary himself never had lunch under that tree is baffling.  He regrets it.

Self Help Radio explored all aspects of lunch this week, despite the incongruity of talking about lunch very late at night - or very early in the morning, however you might perceive it.  There were many songs about lunch, & interviews with guests who talked about the power lunch, about lunch's status among the day's meals, & about movies featuring lunch.  In addition, a radio play premiered - playwright Vance Chamberlain's three-act play "Lunch" was performed in the third hour.  Three hours!  Yes, it was a long lunch.

Despite being accused of being "out to lunch," the host is happy to report that no one lost their lunch during the course of the show.  & even though there's no such thing as a free lunch, there is in fact a free lunch show - which is this week's Self Help Radio.
