Three Hours of Country Style Music

Three songs scattered through this week’s Swing’n’Country emphasize the importance of horses in modern life.   I call it horsepower.  Shooter Jennings sings about his need for "Fast Horses and Good Hideouts."  Tom T. Hall claims that "Faster Horses" (plus younger women, older whiskey and more money) are key to a good life.  New Mexico’s Johnny Lloyd sings about "Cowboy Billy" and a get-away filly named Lily who was the key to making a crime pay.  In addition, the final set of the show highlights the role of horses in Western  activities like wrangling and rodeo.  Just goes to show how horses are still holding their own in this day and age.
