Frankenstein Symphony and other electroacoustic works
The French composer Francis Dhomont turned ninety this past November. A pioneer in electroacoustic/acousmatic music, Frankenstein Symphony is a work completed in 1997, in which Dhomont borrows snippets from the music of 22 composers and friends, many of whom had been his students, then cuts & pastes a remarkable multilayered sonic monster. Frankenstein Symphony runs a little over an hour, after which we will sample a few more Dhomont compositions.
