Quince Crisp (from Jim Gilbert and Lorraine Gardner)

1 large Russian quince, cut into quarters, then sliced 1/2" thick;
arrange in a single layer in a lasagna-sized baking pan  
Topping:          
3/4 cup brown sugar        
1/2 cup rolled oats        
1/2 cup whole wheat flour      
 4 oz. oil (canola/olive)      
1/4 cup chopped toasted filberts      
1/8 teas. Nutmeg        
350° oven; 40-45 minutes, or until quince is fork-tender
