This week on Preference, we'll be talking with performance artist Penny Arcade. She is in town this month to perform in a Boom Arts production, Longing Lasts Longer, on February 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th.
"Penny Arcade Aka Susana Ventura is an internationally respected performance artist, writer, poet and experimental theatre maker known for her magnetic stage presence, her take-no-prisoners wit and her content-rich plays and one liners. She is the author of ten scripted performance plays and hundreds of performance art pieces. Her work has always focused on the other and the outsider, giving voice to those marginalized by society. Her willingness to speak truth to power at the expense of career concerns has made her an international icon of artistic resistance. Then we'll spend some time with Ernesto Dominguez and Amber Reeves, who have been working to advance LGBT safety and visibility at Concordia University. Ernesto is a senior social work student at Concordia; he is also one of the founders of the QSA club at Concordia, and currently serves as student body president, elected by his peers last spring. He is also queer and a Latino immigrant from Mexico.

Amber is a senior English student at Concordia university. Amber has served many roles with the QSA including President, Vice President and secretary. Amber is also the current club commission for the associated students of Concordia university. Amber used “they/them” pronouns. Amber works with all clubs and has advocated for more inclusive policies for clubs and student events.
