- Bill Resnick talks with Hannah Holleman about capitalist agriculture and the destruction of land with chemical treatments to boost production. They also discuss mainstream alternatives and the sustainble left program for growing food. Hannah Holleman is an activist teaching at Amherst College in sociology and environmental studies. She is on the editorial committee of the journal Monthly Review. Her book, Dust Bowls of Empire: Imperialism, Environmental Politics, and the Injustice of “Green” Capitalism is coming in November 2018.
- Desiree Hellegers speaks with OPAL organizer Maria Hernandez Segoviano about Measure 105 and the September 8 "Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice" National Day of Action.
- Book Mole Larry Bowlden reviews Pat Barker’s novel, Border Crossing. Published in 2001, Border Crossing investigates the crimes of particularly violent children, the notion of evil and the possibility of redemption.
- Denise Morris talks with Joshua Holt, RN at Kaiser Permanente, about Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (OFNHP) ongoing contract negotiations and the Uprising of Nurses Nationally. They are Joined by Evergreen Education Association teacher and EEA President Bill Beville for an update on members Vote to Strike in advance of the 2018/19 school year.
