This fall, Multnomah county and Bridges to Change, a local non-profit, will open a new program dedicated to curbing the disparities for African American women involved with the Justice system.
The Diane Wade House program "will be the first-of-its-kind transitional housing program for adult women involved in the criminal justice system in Multnomah County. The home will provide gender-responsive, trauma-informed services that are also Afrocentric. The residents who will be referred to the program, will have access to culturally specific mental health stabilization and support services."
