State of Oregon vs Milwaukie Sewers

Last week, the Oregon Secretary of State dismissed the elections violation complaint filed by the county against the city of Milwaukie.
Last year, the Moore Information of Portland conducted a poll to get the public’s opinion on issues relating to sewer rates and the Kellogg Treatment Plant.
The poll mostly referenced sewer issues however the poll also asked about the public’s opinion of their current city commissioners.
County Chair Lynn Peterson wrote a letter to the Secretary of State in December 2009 saying that the information in that poll could have no other purpose but to promote political opposition to the county commission and commissioners.
Lynn Peterson made a few comments on the issues at hand…
A final offer was made to Milwaukee by Clackamas County and they have until tomorrow to make a decision before heading to binding arbitration.
If Milwaukee refuses to accept the deal then the two parties will go into forced arbitration and the new rates will be determined by a third party.
This process could take up until May to be concluded.
