Protest against police violence
The vigil culminated on Northeast Sandy Boulevard, at the site of the recent killing of unarmed black man Aaron Campbell by Portland police officer Ronald Frashour on January 29th.
Today, there is a protest going on right now in the South Park Blocks to challenge the recent spate of police violence.
KBOO’s Ben Cooper is there, and we go to him now for a live report. Ben, what’s the situation there in downtown Portland?
That was a live report from the march to end police violence in our community. The Portland City Council will be holding a special hearing on the Portland Independent Police review Board on Wednesday at 6 pm at City Hall in Portland.
The reverend Jesse Jackson was in Portland today to help the community figure out next steps for dealing with the issues of police violence.
