Postal employees around the state are challenging the U-S Postal Service’s plan to end Saturday mail delivery.
Today an informational picket is taking place at the Portland Main Post Office to raise awareness about the five day plan and its effects on postal workers and those who benefit from their service.
KBOO’s Sheya Rivard spoke with Vice President of a Portland letter carriers association branch, Jerry Fitzsimmons, to see why workers are against changing to the five day service.
Fitsimmons says the Postal workers plan to raise as much public support as possible in the near future in order to help pass House Resolution 173, which would keep six day service from being cut.
