Bobby Bermea: Community Profile Writing Workshop

Every season Portland's Profile Theatre identifies a community that their Featured Playwright is intimately involved with and creates a free writing workshop for that specific group.  The workshop is called "Community Profile". The 2020-21 season Featured Playwright was Lynn Nottage, the target audience, Black women.  With every meeting,  this cohort became more than a writers group: They became a true affinity group,  a network of mutual support. 

   Well-known Portland actor/director Bobby Bermea, Profile Theatre's Director of Community Engagement, joins us to tell the story of this unique community building program.
