Shall we go, you and I while we can?
Late last October when Phil Lesh died, he'd led various solo projects and collaborated with mixtures of members of his first band elsewhere, for nearly as long as The Grateful Dead had performed live. Today we will enter that latter era of Phil's musical career.
As with the three prior episodes of this special, these next two will merely scrape the scintillating surface of the myriad bands known as 'Phil & Friends'; a band more consistently musically complicated than, and dare I say fun and unpredictable to listen to, compared to his first band. Researching what to pick out of nearly 1000 songs led me toward some surprising discoveries which you'll hear during the two weeks. But only if you listen.
