Hey now, Phil G here. THis week on Grateful Dead and Friends I am delighted to share with you the 50th anniversary remaster release of Robert Hunter's second album, Tiger Rose. This is my favorite of all of Hunter's solo work, it features support from Jerry Garcia, Donna Jean GOdchaux, David Freiberg, Pete Sears, Dave Torbert, and a mysterious drummer named "B.D. Shot."
Please join me as we explore both live and studio tracks in the first hour. The second hour, I have new music from The Third Mind (featuring former Ratdog Guiarist Mark Karan, Dave Alvin, Michael Jerome Moore, Victor Krummenacher, and Jesse Sykes). Dave describes the band as "imagine Johnny Guitar Watson joining the Quicksilver Messenger Service, so you know I LOVE it! ALso, some recent Gov't Mule and, of course, some Grateful Dead.
