Tracy Molina, also known as Cozca, is a veteran and activist who has faced arrest at numerous protest actions in Portland dating back to 2018. In this interview, she discusses some of those incidents and the actions of police and prosecutors, including violent arrest procedures, disregarding video evidence, alleged false reporting of events, and mistreatment in the county jail (MCDC - Multnomah County Detention Center). The incidents include a counter-protest against the Proud Boys and other rightwing extremists in August 2018, numerous protest events in 2020, a confrontation with then-Mayor Ted Wheeler in 2021, an incident on Earth Day 2023 in which she says she was falsely accused of assaulting a police officer, and her observations of the treatment of detainees in MCDC over that time period. Her most recent arrest occurred in 2024 when she pulled a fire alarm at the Justice Center in an attempt to draw attention to the mistreatment of people in MCDC during a spate of deaths at the jail.
